When I am traveling in the USA or abroad I take notice of the
natural beauty around me. These paintings on canvas, paper and
wood panel are a synthesis of various natural noticing. They are
called A Beautiful Nowhere because the landscape paintings look
like somewhere but do not actually exist.
I hope these paintings are viewed with the intention to take time
and notice the details of natural life on earth. I use acrylic paint,
watercolor, and ink to create the landscapes, and to create different
textures and depth in the composition. Also, the color palette varies
in order to give different times of day and mood to the beautiful
nowhere I am creating.
The painting style was inspired by Impressionism, Hudson River
School of Painting, and intuitive techniques to create the overall
painterly feel to the works. These paintings are meant to be hung in
gallery format in order for the viewers to take their time with each
landscape. To linger and enjoy A Beautiful Nowhere.
